Yoga sports leggings may be on your list to purchase wholesale and sell on platforms such as Amazon, Etsy, and eBay.

Last week, I was in contact with over 500 small-scale Turkish textile workshops for a project, and one of them asked me to feature their yoga sports leggings on my website. Before deciding to dropship wholesale Turkish yoga leggings directly from a Turkish legging wholesaler, I did some research on private label yoga legging production in Turkey.

Private Label Production Costs for Turkish Yoga Leggings

I gathered quotes for 1,000 yoga sports leggings (for women). I outlined my needs for yoga leggings as follows:

• A fabric suitable for all seasons, particularly 81% polyamide and 19% lycra.
• Women’s leggings in one size, measuring 25 inches (63.5 cm).
• Ultra-stretchable with mild compression.
• High waisted.
• Seamless Waistband

I wanted high-quality yoga leggings, so I asked if they were able to produce them. I showed them photographs of Amazon’s best-selling yoga leggings. I planned to sell them through our Amazon UK store.

Costs of Private Label Yoga Sports Legging Production in Turkey

Private label yoga sports leggings come in two steps. The fabric is the primary component. Fabric costs have a significant impact on the total production cost. Turkey is one of the leading fabric manufacturing locations (see Turkish Fabric Manufacturers). As a result, I anticipated that fabric prices would be comparable to those in China. However, I was not sure about the cutting, sewing, and finishing costs of yoga leggings. So I contacted both fabric manufacturers and small-scale textile workshops (generally with 15–25 employees).

Fabric Prices for Yoga Leggings in Turkey

The unit price for fabric from Turkish manufacturers is between 120 and 150 TL ($3.5 and $4.5 per meter). Let’s assume it is $3.5 per meter. Surprisingly, fabric costs are almost the same in China.

They will use around 1.2 meters of fabric for one yoga legging.

For 1000 units, they will use approximately 1200 meters of fabric. Then the fabric cost is: $4200.

Cutting, Sewing, Labeling, Ironing, and Packing Costs of Yoga Sports Leggings in Turkey

Small textile workshops, employing approximately 25–35 workers, can produce 1000 units of the aforementioned leggings at a cost of $4.5–$5 (excluding fabric).

If you make a long-term contract, the price may further decrease.

Let’s assume I found a workshop that will do the finishing (ready-to-sell) product and make the work for $4. This portion of the production costs $4000.

Then the total cost for 1000 units of yoga sports leggings is $8200. This means the unit price of one Turkish yoga sports legging is $8.2.

You can purchase a yoga legging of this quality for $21-$24 on Amazon.com or other online retailers. The same leggings were listed for £31 on Amazon UK.

Wholesale Prices of Turkish Yoga Sports Leggings

At the very beginning, I mentioned a manufacturer who had a ready stock of yoga leggings. He had 2000 of them, and the wholesale price was $3,5 per yoga legging. The product met all of my criteria, but I didn’t buy them.

In order to sell wholesale goods on reputable marketplaces, you will need a distributor’s or manufacturer’s invoice. If you are buying from an intermediary seller, then you should obtain permission to sell the product. The products were trademarked on their labels. Therefore, even though it was cheap, I didn’t make the purchase. If there is no invoice from the supplier or the distributor, I cannot buy anything, even if its price is zero dollars.

I am a member of numerous Turkish textile WhatsApp groups, where I regularly receive affordable offers on various textile products. These are helpful for store owners, not for me.

When I searched for wholesale prices for yoga leggings in Turkish wholesale companies, I came across numerous options priced between $5 and $11. You will absolutely find what you are looking for. The minimum order might be as low as 10 items. But most of them will have trademarks on them. So, you should ask about selling permits before making bulk orders.

Wholesale buying will not give you the flexibility of a private label, but this is an option too.

China Prices for Ready-to-Sell Yoga Leggings

While you will handle a lot of details with the above plans, I found many companies in China that offer ready-yoga sports leggings for $8–14. The prices for the highest-quality ones are between $8 and $14.5. Chinese manufacturers generally determine MOQ quantity as 300 items. When you increase the amount, the unit price decreases accordingly.

These prices for yoga leggings are ready-to-sell products. If you find a good company in China, you can decrease the costs of production even more. Actually, I estimate that the manufacturer of the above product charges around $7-$8 per item in private label production. I already contacted them but did not receive a response yet.

Can Turkey Compete with China in Yoga Leggings Production?

Turkey can still compete with China in yoga sports leggings. I don’t know how long this will continue. For now, you can trust Turkish textile workshops since they have a high experience in manufacturing high-quality yoga leggings.
